Chapter 01
Foundations & Indian industrial roots
Born in 1968, in Chalivendala, Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Uma Maheswar Reddy was introduced to manufacturing through his family’s ceramic factory in the 1980s. This hands-on exposure to machinery led him to pursue a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.E. in Tool Design from Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD).
Granite machinery innovation (1991–2005): Entering the family business in 1991, Mr. Uma Maheswar Reddy focused on manufacturing specialized granite-cutting machinery, notably the Tadipatri slab-cutting machines. Alongside his elder brother, he pioneered the introduction of water-polishing machinery for granite processing in India — a landmark technological breakthrough for the domestic industry. This engineering foundation set the stage for his subsequent international expansion.
